Allen Dennison is a multifaceted creative artist whose work resonates deeply with those who encounter it. An artist, educator, musician, father, husband, and ordained elder. Allen brings his full self to every canvas. His wide-ranging gifts and life experiences are woven into each piece he creates, giving his portfolio—now more than 200 works—an emotional richness and narrative power. He proudly shares that every painting has its own story, and he remembers them all.

Allen’s artistic journey began in the third grade when a friend, Ted Reed, introduced him to animation. That spark ignited an early passion for drawing and painting, and he quickly immersed himself in pens, pencils, and brushes—tools that would become his lifelong companions.

Although largely self-taught, Allen refined his craft through formal art classes in high school and later at South Carolina State University, where he was mentored by the influential artist Alvin Staley. It was during his college years that his artistic voice began to truly flourish.

Born and raised in Georgetown, South Carolina, Allen remains deeply connected to his roots. His mother, Linda Dennison, and the late Bunny Rodriguez were among his earliest supporters and inspirations. Today, his wife, Beanetta, and his daughters—Nevaeh, Heaven, and Halo—continue to inspire and motivate his creative work. Much of Allen’s art reflects the beauty, resilience, and traditions of Gullah and African American culture. Through his pieces, he strives to preserve and honor these legacies, ensuring their stories endure for generations.

In addition to cultural themes, Allen’s portfolio spans portraiture, animation-inspired work, illustration, and vivid scenes that capture the wonder of everyday life. He enjoys experimenting with acrylics, oils, and watercolor, allowing his creativity to move fluidly across mediums.

As he continues to grow in his craft, Allen aspires to continue creating inspirational African American Art paintings to display at Art shows, teach art lessons and illustrate children's books.
